Introduction:

"time to shake the dust off and shoot something :)"

Archery is a sport that requires practice and discipline, and we meet regularly to fulfill these requirements. If you cannot attend an event at least ONCE every 60 days, do you understand your membership will be discontinued?

"I try to come once a month, mostly in late fall/winter/early spring since the range is indoors. Once the weather gets warmer though I prefer to be outdoors hiking, biking, trapezing...although a trip to an outdoor range could tempt me..."

How did you find out about the NYC Archery Meetup Group?

"After getting hooked on archery at Club Getaway, I looked up online where else I could do this and Archery Meet up popped up as a hit. I became a member in Nov 2004."

Tell us about your archery experience. Never shot before? Tell us your expectations.

"Took my first shot summer 2004 at a camp for adults in South Kent CT- and was hooked (well actually that's not entirely true. I took my very first shot at a ren faire, but somehow that's not a good memory and i always wanted to rectify that). "

A large part of the value in joining our group is socializing and learning from other archers. Can you tell us what you hope to get out of joining our archery club?

"I have already gotten so much out of being part of this group. Not just learning to shoot and work on form, but the great friendships and comraderie. The group is friendly and fun. Someone is always willing to help out/give pointers. I LOVE YOU GUYS!"

As a group, we have ambitions for travel and expansion; corporate sponsorship and a shooting space of our own. As a member of the club, what developments would you like to see?

"Priority should be getting a shooting space of our own. I don't mind going out to Queens (and we could still go there) but I would definitely get more practice in if there were a range in Manhattan."
