"Greetings, all! I loved archery as a kid and have finally decided to pursue it as an adult. Can't wait to get started!"

Archery is a sport that requires practice and discipline, and we meet regularly to fulfill these requirements. If you cannot attend an event at least ONCE every 60 days, do you understand your membership will be discontinued?

How did you find out about the NYC Archery Meetup Group?

"Online search--I was thrilled to find a local group!"

Tell us about your archery experience. Never shot before? Tell us your expectations.

"I shot as a kid and only recently picked up a bow again for the first time in years... I was encouraged to find that I still seem to have a knack for it. I'm excited to get back into the sport--starting from scratch, of course!"

A large part of the value in joining our group is socializing and learning from other archers. Can you tell us what you hope to get out of joining our archery club?

"Any sport is more fun when you can practice it with others; that's something I'm looking forward to as a member of this club."

As a group, we have ambitions for travel and expansion; corporate sponsorship and a shooting space of our own. As a member of the club, what developments would you like to see?

"Well, dare I say it... I'd absolutely love to see the club establish a shooting space here in NYC. It would be terrific to be able to practice regularly without the need to travel. "

  "Well, first and foremost, it's clear that Deidre the organizer is passionate about the sport of archery and is enthusiastic about helping others learn. She offers a wealth of useful tips and suggestions on improving in the sport. The group members vary in experience, but because everyone shoots at his or her own ability level, there's no feeling of having to 'keep up' for those with less experience (like myself). The members I've met so far are all very laid back, friendly, and welcoming. Anyone with an interest the sport of archery should consider joining this group, regardless of experience or lack thereof. There's definitely room for all levels!"
