Greetings!
I missed this event, but I'd love to hear from attendees how everything went on Saturday.
Who got a chance to attend? Any bullseyes? wink
How was the range? Did members get a chance to practice together? Learn something new?

Fill us in!

Cheers,
Deidre

Psst! Guess who else was there?
Well... I finally made it to an event and alas, I missed everyone. I went in with my younger sister, for whom I've purchased an old Hoyt one-piece recurve. The bow is 66-inches unstrung with a draw weight of 25-lbs at 28 inches. It's in pretty good shape, but there was no string. John was searching for the right size string for a while, and we got worried that she wasn't going to get a chance to shoot her new bow. Suddenly, out of the ether, Matt came in to hang out for a while, even though it was his day off. He's the guy that makes all their strings! He custom-made her a flemmish bowstring that matched the colors of her two-toned bow! He served it, put in a nock point and new arrow rest, and gave her a big thumbs up. We purchased a half-dozen pretty 1716 aluminum arrows that had green and powder-blue feathers on it( perfect for a lady), had them cut and set up, and within two ends, my sister Ava was hitting gold and red at 10 yards. One end even had half of her arrows in the gold.
I got to shoot, for the first time in many months (maybe a year - almost). Thank goodness to the finer things in life, as I am still able to pack them in pretty tight. Ok, enough boasting...We had a great time, and we are hoping to see many of you in future meet ups! Now that Ava has her bow and arrows, we will be visiting Uncle Floyd Bennett!

Well dang! I think you missed everyone because by the time you RSVPed, I'd already sent out the "Final Details" email.

Sounds as if you had a great time. I'm jealous! smile

Let's hear from all the other stealth archers out there.

Cheers,
Deidre

Hi everyone!! I made it to my second meetup and I found out that I was about 2 hours early. Yes I was there at 11am ready to shoot. This time all of my kids wanted to come and experience archery for the first time, so I had all 3 with me. Gabby my youngest was ready to shoot a recurved bow, while her older brother and sister wanted to use compound bows for their first time shooting. After a while they switched bows and tried to see the difference. Gabby, after firing the compound bow twice put it down and called it a "weenie bow " for "weenies". The three of them had a good time and want to do it again. I don't know if I can afford it though :-))) In anycase it was a great day out with the kids. I also meet Jen there. I didn't get to speak to her as much as I would have liked to. I had to make sure my kids didn't get any ideas of shooting each other. Sorry Jen, next time I will be more social. Overall it was a good event!!!
